Idaho has grown fast, and childcare hasn't kept up. Many of the families who call us just moved to the Treasure Valley and don't have anyone nearby to ask for a recommendation yet. That's exactly where we can help. The Family Care Collective is run by me and my partner Mario, and we place vetted nannies with Idaho families.

Where we place nannies in Idaho

  • Boise, including the North End, the East End and Harris Ranch. See our Boise nanny agency page.

  • Eagle and Star

  • Meridian and Kuna

  • Nampa and Caldwell

Somewhere else in Idaho? Reach out and we'll tell you honestly whether we can find someone.

What Idaho families should know before hiring

Idaho keeps things fairly simple for families, but a nanny is still usually your employee:

  • Federal taxes: Once you pay a nanny $3,000 or more in 2026, you owe Social Security and Medicare taxes on her wages.

  • Unemployment taxes: Federal and Idaho unemployment taxes generally apply once you pay $1,000 or more in wages in a calendar quarter.

  • Workers' compensation: Idaho doesn't require it for most household employees, but many families buy a policy anyway for peace of mind.

  • Time off: There's no state paid sick leave law, but paid time off helps you keep a great nanny long term.

We wrote a full breakdown of Boise rates, Idaho nanny taxes and benefits in our guide to hiring a nanny in Boise.

The kinds of nannies we place

  • Full-time nannies for families who need steady, everyday care.

  • Part-time and after-school nannies, including roles under 20 hours a week.

  • Special needs nannies with real experience supporting kids with different learning, medical or behavioral needs.

  • Newborn and infant care for the first months.

  • House managers and family assistants for busy households that need more than childcare.

What a nanny costs in Idaho

Most Idaho families we work with pay between $25 and $35 an hour, depending on experience, hours and how many kids are home. House managers usually start around $32 to $40 an hour.

How it works with us

  1. We talk first. A consultation about your kids, your routines and what matters to you.

  2. We search. We recruit locally and reach out to nannies we already know.

  3. We screen. Every candidate is interviewed by our team. We call references from past families and run a background check before you meet anyone.

  4. You meet a short list. Usually a video call, then a paid trial day with the nanny you like most.

  5. We help you make the offer. Pay, a written nanny agreement and a plan for the first few weeks.

Common questions

Can you help if we just moved to Idaho?

Yes. A lot of our Idaho families are new to the state. We can start the search before you're fully unpacked.

Do you place part-time nannies?

Yes, including part-time roles under 20 hours a week.

Does the nanny work for the agency or for us?

She works for your family. We find her, vet her and help you get started on the right foot.

Tell us about your family

If you're looking for a nanny anywhere in Idaho, start with our family application. Mario or I will follow up personally. We also place nannies in Colorado and Utah, and with families nationwide.
